Actress Kajol has stirred controversy following remarks about Ramoji Film City, a film studio in Hyderabad, calling it “one of the most haunted places in the world” during a promotional interview.
While promoting her upcoming horror film Maa, slated for a June 20 release, Kajol appeared in a YouTube interview where she referenced Ramoji Film City as a location known for unsettling experiences.
“There are places where you don’t know if you’ll even get to sleep peacefully at night or make it out. Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad is one such place, often spoken about as haunted. I feel lucky nothing ever happened to me,” she said.
The statement quickly gained traction online, drawing reactions from fans and industry insiders. Critics argue that her comments could tarnish the image of a globally recognized shooting destination.
Ramoji Film City, regarded as one of the world’s largest studio complexes, regularly hosts projects from Bollywood, Tollywood, and international productions.
